About Our Team

Before starting Predictive Maintenance Drones, current Chief Services Officer, Abhishek Raol, with a background in engineering, worked on a flying testbed solution to host Rockwell Collins’ optical payload, with the intent of efficient equipment testing. The opportunity to substantially  improve industrial efficiency was apparent. Together with coaches and mentors with extensive industrial, predictive maintenance and data security experience, Predictive Maintenance Drones LLC was born. Current industrial inspection can be both cost and time inefficient. Our mission is to provide safe and cost effective aerial inspection for predictive maintenance, which is specific to your companies needs. We are working with and looking for coaches and mentors with industrial experience as we continue to grow. Contact us for additional information about our team members.

Safety & Compliance

Safety is our top priority. We abide by the FAA regulations and guidelines while ensuring we provide the safe aerial inspection services specific to your companies environment.

  • Forward, Backward and Downward Vision System
  • Infrared sensing system
  • Obstacle Sensory Range from 0.6-23 feet for obstacle avoidance. The aircraft will autonomously stop before colliding with an obstacle.
  • Flight controller recommends when to return the drone to home based on battery life and distance away from home.
  • The aircraft will autonomously land when the battery is critically low so that the battery does not die while airborne.
  • Battery monitoring on remote controller
  • Reinforced propellor guards to prevent any objects coming in contact with the propellers
  • In the rare case of a collision, the flexible roll cage will bounce back from any surface it comes in contact with.
  • FAA Part 107 certified pilot and registered commercial drone

Why Drones?

INDUSTRIES

Supply Chain, Electrical Utility, Solar Plants, Oil and Gas, Railroad, Agriculture, Firefighting

HIGH QUALITY DATA

The drones stable flight translates to accurate and precise data collection. Our drone is equipped with obstacle avoidance capabilities which allows it to navigate close to the equipment we wish to inspect.

QUICK DEPLOYMENT

The drone is fast and ready to go. They can be deployed to a particular location without the need to set up ladders or clear the ground for inspection. When the battery level runs low, it can be quickly replaced for prolonged flight time.

FLEXIBILITY

A drones inherent ability to navigate a 3 dimensional space also allows more degrees of freedom in your inspections. Our drone is an aerial platform to host sensors for inspection. We will work with you to mount sensors specific to your companies needs.

SHAREABLE DATA

The drone will provide a live stream of the inspection data, while also saving the data for post flight analysis. Your inspection data will be private and accessible to you via a secure network.

SAVE TIME AND MONEY

Using a drone for inspection will significantly reduce your financial and time costs. It will remove efforts to erect inspection equipment, such as ladders and access towers. Instead of many expensive decentralized sensors, drone mounted sensors will allow quick sweeps of your equipment.

We are a drone startup looking to provide a solution to an unanswered problem: flexible aerial inspection for predictive maintenance. We understand the high cost and inefficiencies in current inspection and we want to significantly improve industrial efficiency. While there are other industrial inspection drone companies, we want to also provide indoor/warehouse inspection. We are also unique because we look to host multiple sensors so that you have a diverse set of data on a single timeline.

We are flexible and want to meet your specific inspection needs, so we are open to exploring new technologies and modifying our drone to perform application specific inspections. While our current focus is on high quality data collection, we are also working on software to process data across various sensors to perform smarter predictive maintenance

Applications and Expected Results

Predictive Maintenance

Performing routine inspections on your equipment to detect anomalies can draw your attention to equipment that needs maintenance before expensive equipment failure. With consistent predictive maintenance, performance patterns will emerge, maintenance will be streamlined and your equipment down time will be reduced.

Industrial Inspection

The drone can capture live thermal footage of roller bearings, conveyor belt, gear boxes, transition points, etc. The footage will also be saved on an SD card for post flight analysis. A visible camera image will also show in parallel to the thermal footage. The thermal image can also be superimposed onto the visible camera image do make detailed observations. In addition to a thermal camera, an ultrasound sensor which, we are working to fine tune for drones, will detect anomalies in acoustic waveforms, indicating malfunctioning bearings. Our current obstacle is filtering out the drones noise from acoustic data. Once this problem is solved, we will grow our selection of sensors. We are open to working with clients to test the sensors they recommend.

Roof Inspection

The drone can capture thermal and visible camera footage from outside the building to detect poor insulation thermal leaks or roof failures.

Electrical Utility Inspection

A drone can capture thermal, visible camera and acoustic footage of power lines, couplings and transformers to give early detection of potential failure.
